Facebook

Since I've been introduced to facebook, my blogging days have been reduced. Facebook is the latest craze. I wonder how long it will last. Literally everyone I know is on facebook! If you're not on facebook, you're missing out. It's an ingenious way of peeping into people's lives without asking them what they're up to. I haven't had time to do much on it. I have lots of pic I'd like to upload. When I get the chance (possibly before the end of the year), I'll put some up. I'm off to Joburg soon, that should be fun. I'm off to do some research and am half nervous half excited. Until next time...

Me

This is what I look like at the moment. I bought my earrings from a Senegalese man who wanted to be "my friend", dodgy dodgy. Andrew said I reminded him of Nandi from Shaka Zulu hahahaha, now that's funny. Big is in fashion man, don't you think my earrings are soo cool :)

Hey hoo

Keeping a blog needs serious discipline. I'm trying to keep up though, so far it hasn't been that bad. I haven't completely abandoned the idea. I failed the first time, this year has to be different. There are a lot of things that are different this year. I'm learning a lot about me and learning to just be me. I now live alone and have had to think about me a lot. Well, I've thought about me in between the numerous phonecalls from Andrew, my favourite person. I haven't spent too much time on the phone though coz I have so much reading to do. For the next couple of days, I'm supposed to read about the national question and the class question in South Africa. I'm not quite sure what that means but it should make sense eventually. I'm enjoying reading these days (Mutsa would laugh). I now have a few books in my collection and I've seen a few others I'd like to buy soon. Who would've thought I'd like reading. At the moment my leisure reading is on hold. I'm under pressure to focus on journal articles and I feel bad when I try read anything else. One day I'll be a super fast reader and read as much as I want to. I think Andrew's rubbing off coz he loooooves reading. I've never met anyone who reads up to 4 books at the same time and keeps a full-time job. Viva you my angel. It's almost midnight and I'm at the dining hall office reading articles. I can't seem to focus at the moment but I have to get back to work. Kisses to ya'll. Matthew I can't believe you're almost 1, that's so hard to believe, I'm a bad aunt. I'm not so broke at the moment so must send that prezzie soon. xoxoxoxoxo

So tired

After over a month of not blogging, I'm going to drop a few lines. I'm so tired right now. It's 9.20pm and I am making some corrections to my thesis. The end is nigh. It's been fun but I must let this bird go. It must spread it's wings and fly, fly far away and when it's at a good distance, I'll shoot it down and watch as it's feathers scatter in the sky. Ok, not that dramatic but I'll be really happy when it's finally gone.

Post-conference

The conference was really great. Everyone from my department presented well. Well done Farai, Maps and Andile! We were all nervous since it was the first one but it went super. We all looked very intelligent-hehehe, I hope we sounded the same. Another conference is coming up in June. We want to try go to that one also. This time it'll be in Potchefstroom. Never been there before, it would be great to go there. Tomorrow the family is off to pick Minz up from the airport, yay for Minz!!! Have a great Easter, don't eat too many Easter eggs.
